In today’s hustle and hurry world, it can be a challenge to find the time and energy to work out and stay healthy. Snap Fitness makes it easy and convenient to work out, receive expert training advice and stay on track to meet your fitness goals. Owner Lyle Huntoon is the owner of the Snap Fitness location at Alma School and Baseline Roads in Mesa and he explains some of the ways that Snap Fitness is different than other workout facilities and clubs.
Snap Fitness is a franchise with more than 1,400 locations across the globe. “I used to compete in power lifting and bodybuilding,” says Huntoon, who had 30 years with the Department of Corrections in the state of Michigan. “Fitness has pretty much always been a part of my life. I grew up on a farm, I used to work there and I played high school sports and weight lifted.”
The decision to acquire the Mesa location of Snap Fitness was attractive to Huntoon. He states, “I bought it in September 2011, but I had to do some research. I liked the 24/7 availability, I liked the fitness, I liked the franchise. I was thinking about doing a private studio or a private gym, but it’s much easier to go with a franchise.” It was a turn-key operation and Huntoon was excited to bring his fitness knowledge to a new and expanding group of active people who were looking for a gym model that fit their busy lifestyle. With 24-hour access, flexible membership options and high-quality equipment, this was the type of gym that Huntoon wanted to share with the East Valley.
Guests are welcome to come during staffed hours to work out. Members have 24/7 access only available by key, for an added measure of security. One-on-one and two-on-one workout training is available either thorough Huntoon or his full-time trainer, Eddie Barton. Eddie previously worked for six years at a high profile gym in Scottsdale doing personal training of sports pros, cheerleaders and other athletes. Together, the duo keeps the energy level up and the mood positive for all the members.
Joining Snap Fitness is a no-hassle and no-fuss process. “Basically, it’s just month-to-month,” explains Huntoon. “We let them cancel with a 30 day notice if they want. We’re small and we make it easy. There is no maintenance fee or cancellation tax.” Those who want to join just call Snap Fitness or stop in to join. Because of the flexibility and convenience of the location, Snap Fitness attracts members of nearly all ages! In addition to weights and other workout accessories, Snap Fitness features state-of-the-art Cybex workout equipment. Nutritional counseling is also available.
Huntoon continues, “Once someone is a member, they have 24/7 access. They can also use any gym location, they can. They can go to Flagstaff, Sedona, Prescott, Chicago, New York or Michigan or anywhere else. A lot of people do that I we get visitors every day.”
Unlike some Valley gyms, Snap Fitness is focused solely on its clients. “I think another good thing about us is that bit gyms are always about ‘sales, sales, sales’ and they’re pushing that,” finishes Huntoon. “We don’t do that.” Additionally, signing up at Snap Fitness only takes five minutes and a signature.Snap Fitness is located at 2025 S.
