Hermosa Inn Presents Its Annual Pre-Oscars Party

Featuring an evening of glitz, glamour and a ‘touch of grace’

"If Cinderella had had Edith Head, she would not have needed a Fairy Godmother” - Edith Head

Hermosa Inn presents its prelude to one of the most fashionable nights in Hollywood with its annual PRE-OSCARS PARTY FEATURING ROBERT BLACK, Thursday, February 16 at 6:30 pm.

Founder of the international model and talent agency, Ford Robert Black Agency, Black also owns Fashion by Robert Black, a vintage-style boutique located in the heart of Old Town offering red carpet couture and wearable and fashionable designer pieces of vintage history, from which he selects the fashions for this year’s theme:‘A Touch of Grace,’ in honor of Grace Kelly and her seemingly effortless elegance.

The evening begins with a red carpet arrival and cocktail reception where guests are met by special guest and actor Susan Claassen, widely renowned for her portrayal of celebrated Hollywood stylist and costume designer Edith Head. In her six decades of costume design, Edith Head dressed most of the great stars, from Mae West to Elizabeth Taylor, received 35 Academy Award nominations and won an unprecedented eight Oscars. Claassen never breaks character throughout the festive evening and her representation is so spot on that it is said friends of the late Edith Head have carried on conversations with the actress while in character.

Guests will dine on an Oscar-a worthy menu created by Executive Chef Jeremy Pacheco and LON’s culinary team harkening back to the glamorous dinners of the 1950s, followed by a fashion show featuring some of the most elegant, vintage, one-of-a-kind, museum-quality designs found anywhere in the world, provided by Fashion by Robert Black.

ABOUT THE HERMOSA INN, LON’S & LON’S LAST DROP

Ranked among the top hotels in the Southwest, the AAA Four Diamond Hermosa Inn is a jewel of a hideaway surrounded by an exclusive neighborhood in Paradise Valley, and minutes from Scottsdale and its many attractions. Handcrafted in the 1930s by cowboy artist Lon Megargee as his residence and art studio, the Inn’s adobe architecture has kept its “authentic Arizona” character and charm. The 43 newly renovated guest casitas are nestled in a garden setting with breathtaking vistas of the lush desert and Camelback Mountain. Accommodations reflect the southwestern design of the original Casa Hermosa (beautiful house) and most include deep soaking tubs, beehive fireplaces and private patios. The culinary centerpiece is LON’s at the Hermosa, a AAA Four Diamond restaurant serving globally inspired Arizona fare. A Best of Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator recipient, the restaurant is complemented by a subterranean wine cellar, a celebrated outdoor dining patio, and its bar and casual dining counterpart LON’s Last Drop, named after one of Megargee’s iconic paintings, many of which are displayed throughout the resort.
